Waiting Children

Eleven year old Michael is in need of a home as soon as possible. His mother adopted him from foster care as an infant as a single mother. Michael’s mother passed away at Christmas time in 2012. Needless to say he had a difficult time with her loss. He already had a diagnosis of ADHD and possible ODD. With her loss he suffered greatly from in his grief and the disruption of his secure home. His adult sister and her husband cared for him for a short time in hopes of getting him a new family, but she felt that with his loss he need more help than they could provide. Michael has been in treatment foster care for the past year and is doing quite well.
Michael is ready for the fifth grade. He has an IEP that helps with his ADD. He likes school and likes to learn. He is interested in a variety of sports and activities appropriate to a boy his age. He also is funny, caring and likes to cook. He enjoys building with Legos and truly gets much joy out of music.
Michael is ready for a family. He would do best as the youngest child or an only child. We will consider all possible families, two parent families, single mothers, single fathers. He is of Spanish and African American descent and has been raised Christian. A family of any race, ethnic background or religion, who will honor him for who he is will be considered.
