Uganda Program

A few years ago we had a family bring home to New Mexico two beautiful little girls from Uganda. They also brought home a heavy heart filled by their experience of so many children living in conditions that are not imaginable to us living our everyday lives.

Too many children are living without parents, or parents that cannot care for them, or parents that are dying. After many conversations with this family and their conversations with a very special Ugandan Christian minister, named Rashid, All Age Adoptions Plus felt called to find families to adopt these beautiful children. In keeping with our belief that every child deserves a home we are now working with Bethel House Orphanage.

We are not looking for children, they are finding their way to Bethel House. Pastor Rashid continually opens his heart to more and more children, feeding them, housing them and educating them.

We are also not looking for families and have not advertised our Ugandan Adoption Program. It takes a special family to adopt, to adopt internationally and to adopt from Uganda. Just like we felt called to help the orphans at Bethel House we know that you have been called.

As children who are orphaned find their way to Bethel House, Rashid will take custody and ask for our help to find the right family for the child. He will take the proper steps to have them become “orphaned” under the orphan definition of our government. Once that happens, he can then refer the child or children to our agency, so that we can find them their family. The Ugandan High Court grants guardianship to approved potential adoptive parents. You are not “doing” an agency adoption as the court and not the agency is placing the child with you for guardianship and not adoption. You represent yourself in court with independent legal counsel which will be provided for you. It is not until you come back home that you will legally adopt your child.
